says, "This was done, I believe, in Feb of 1976. Darrell
Crabb got together some of the town's people (chamber wasnt heard
of yet) and had this postcard done to promote the area. Harold
Crabb and the photographer's wife are on the snowmobile and Ralph
and Sue Glidden are on the skis. I don't remember the outfitter's
name but he's no longer in business. They told the photographer
to put something together and go ahead and print the cards up
without proofing them.. When the cards came out showing old faithful
the promoters were really mad. At the time, they were trying
to promote Cooke separate from Yellowstone. They tried to contact
the photographer but he had taken the money and run." |
